Louis C. Tiffany
A master of many media, Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 18481933) was one of America’s most noted decorative artists at the turn of the century. Louis C. Tiffany began his career as a painter but moved quickly to interior decoration and other decorative media. In addition to leaded glass windows and lighting fixtures, Tiffany Studios produced exceptional works in wood, bronze, and enamel, as well as jewelry, blown glass, pottery, furniture, and textiles. Louis Comfort Tiffany designed the brilliant, five-paneled Magnolia window for the Tiffany mansion in New York City, where it was placed in the grand library.
