Louis C. Tiffany
Louis Comfort Tiffany (18481933), one of Americas most noted decorative artists, began his career as a painter but moved quickly to interior decoration and leaded- glass windows. Using his innovative opalescent Favrile glass, he achieved pictorial effects of unsurpassed subtlety and beauty.
In his Magnolias and Irises window (ca. 1908), Loius Comfort Tiffany (American, 18481933) employed a well-known motif, the River of Life, with delicately rendered irises and magnolia blossoms framing a winding river in distant hills.
