Louis C. Tiffany
Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 18481933) was one of Americas most noted decorative artists at the turn of the twentieth century. Louis C. Tiffany began his career as a painter but moved quickly to interior decoration and leaded-glass windows, creating innovative opalescent glass in vibrant hues.
Our elegant neckerchief is adapted from Louis Comfort Tiffanys (American, 18481933) magnificent window View of Oyster Bay in the Museums American Wing, which was originally designed for the New York City home of silk industry scion William C. Skinner. Produced in cooperation with the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Winter Park, Florida. Satin ribbon stripe silk. Imported. 22″ x 22”.
